This sandblasted glass screen was made to divide between two rooms in an apartment in London to give varying degrees of privacy but still let light through. The screen has a Chinese theme to it with koi carp fish and bamboo in the Background and some weeping willow hanging down in the foreground. All of the weeping willow leaves were hand cut. The screen features deep, flat and halftone sandblasting with various colour rubs applied. A colour rub is the application of coloured pigments to the sandblast surface, which acts as a key. The screen measures 1900 x 950mm and is 10.8mm laminated glass.
We didn’t fit the screen so there’s no photographs in situ all of the images are from the workshop.
